Entrance Requirements

Entrance Requirements for new or transfer students are:

1. Complete the required registration forms.

2. Score at or above the fifty percentile on standardized test scores.

3. If no test scores are available the student must perform at grade level on the Test of Academic Performance administered by Riverfield Academy.

4. Students entering the 1st grade must score at or above the fifty percentile on the Metropolitan Readiness Test (MRT).

5. High school students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.

6. Students entering grades 6—12 must take and pass a drug screen test for marijuana, methamphetamine, and cocaine at the parent’s expense.

Students who do not meet the above criteria will have their records reviewed by the Academic Committee, and a recommendation will be given to the board concerning their acceptance for enrollment.

 

Academic Requirements

K-8th grade—Students in grades K—8th who have failed reading or math; or have failed three or more other subjects will be retained for the school year.

A student can be retained in grades K—5 no more than 2 times; and in K—8 no more than a total of 3 times.

Grading:

High school students are on the semester system. A semester final will be given. The final grade for the semester is the average of twice the two nine weeks grade plus the final test grade.

Junior High students are on a yearly system. Their grade is the average of the four nine weeks.
